To my dear brother-in-law Marvin, who has shared many stories of growing up in Brooklyn sitting on the dunes at the beach in winter, looking out to the snow falling on water…When we lose our memories…do we also lose who we are…do we become an echo of who we are.. do we become as the snow falling on water?
This ballet is made possible through The O’Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation’s commissioning program, and with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and with the generous support of The Harkness Foundation for Dance. The ballet was developed during a NYSCA residency at Kaatsbaan International Dance Center. Special thanks to Gregory Cary and Bentley Roton.
